It is all about your preparation.
Some basic ways to improve your trip
- Buy a thermos – trips are always better with a hot cup of tea or coffee – and the caffeine hit will either wake you up for your lectures or wake you up after your lectures have put you to sleep.
- Buy some really good earphones – the goal here is to block out the other grumpy commuters and it will be easy to retreat into your own world.
Once you have these – here are two different ways to make the best out of your trip:
1. Use your trip to university to plan your day, take a note pad and write down your daily goals. Bring the readings for that day so the content is fresh in your mind for your tutorials. Not only will your travel time seem shorter, but you will be getting work done and be better prepared for class so you can easily get those participation marks. If you have a long trip, download lectures, and watch these during your commute!
2. You can dedicated the trip to some well-deserved ‘me time’ and use it to relax and clear your mind – take a book, magazine or whatever it is to immerse yourself in your own world - this will work great with those new earphones of yours. Do this and you will feel nice and relaxed by the time you arrive home or arrive at Uni. (Just be careful not to miss your stop.)
Happy Travels!
